RMI was founded in 2008 by the Alliance for Responsible Business and members of the Global E-Sustainability Initiative. The RMI certification audit process is rigorous and systematic, and only 23 enterprises have passed the audit in the world.

In recent years, with the rapid development of the new energy industry, the demand for cobalt, nickel, lithium and other mineral resources continues to grow, and more and more attention has been paid to the degree of conflict impact and risk of their origin.
